The Ten Percent Society, a University of Wisconsin-Madison student organization, builds community and fosters individual growth for those of fluid sexualities and gender identities by providing social involvement opportunities through events, education and activism. The Ten Percent Society actively pursues an inclusive environment for all.
The Ten Percent Society (TPS) was founded in 1983 upon passage of Wisconsin's gay rights legislation. As a University of Wisconsin registered student organization, we provide educational, social and cultural opportunities for students, faculty and staff, guard against university-sponsored discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, and work toward creating a campus free of homophobia.
TPS holds five dances per year, additionally we participate in two annual LGBT awareness series: Coming Out Week in the fall and Out and About Week in the spring.
TPS has supported and donated to organizations such as WI AIDS Network, Queer People Of Color, Student Global AIDS Campaign, and many many others. Please help mark 25 years of service!
Pass this on to others who might be interested and join us on Facebook. We would also be happy to mail or bring by handbills, flyers, or posters to your organization!
